Caravaggio, Saint Jerome in His Study (1604)

Notes on surviving the 21st century and a mixtape delivered 'round midnight on the 1st and 15th of the month.

Night owls play a crucial role in the survival of animals that live in groups. These species fare better when some members watch over the others at night, a trait that has persisted from the ice and stone ages into this era of neon and sodium light. The sentinel hypothesis is a love poem to the long-haul truckers and security guards, the swing shift nurses and factory workers, the insomniac writers and music-makers. We are descendants of the honorable night watchman.

Inspired by the Electrifying Mojo, Midnight Radio is a short burst of late-night reverberations, recommendations, and a five-track mixtape delivered ’round midnight on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Starting this year, each episode on the 15th will feature a Very Special Guest who will share favorite songs and their thoughts on whether there is a god.
