# Interference

A world so quickly and thoroughly changed. I find myself frequently returning to a century-old line from [The Surrealist Manifesto](https://tcf.ua.edu/Classes/Jbutler/T340/F98/SurrealistManifesto.htm?ref=jamesreeves.co): “Let yourself be carried along. Events will not tolerate your interference.”

In the wake of the world’s first mechanized war, the [Dada](https://www.tate.org.uk/art/art-terms/d/dada?ref=jamesreeves.co) movement ferociously rejected institutional logic before fading into the dreamlife of Surrealism. Some of us turn outwards, others inwards. Which direction will dominate after this crisis?
