Snapshots of the places I read and write. Despite my best intentions, my desk is always messy, an uneven terrain of the books, photos, notes, and riff-raff that make a life. These are landscapes that I want to remember.

**Indianapolis, 2013**. My writing desk during a five-week residency in Indianapolis. Ballard, [*The Image*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The%5FImage:%5FA%5FGuide%5Fto%5FPseudo-events%5Fin%5FAmerica?ref=jamesreeves.co) by Daniel Boorstin, *Species of Spaces and Other Pieces* by Georges Perec, as well as biographies of André Breton and Marcel Duchamp.
